    We7 is Rubbish!

Just had a look at the new We7 site and it's absolute rubbish, you used to be able to search through albums and artists. Now it's just turned into a glorified radio station. Grooveshark and Youtube it is then :-(

I used to like the old We7, too; in fact (blasphemy!) I preferred it to Spotify. I can see why they changed the format in business terms, but you're right - it's nowhere near as good for the user. I did leave it playing "John Foxx Radio" for a while, and some of the choices were a bit odd (and I'm sure a couple of tracks were repeated within an hour).

I love spotify, also if you listen to last.fm and the playing track is on spotify you should see a link/button appear to launch it in spotify.

I much prefer the old version. Since the change I haven't been to the site on more than three occasions.

I suppose I should accept change more but in this respect it is difficult [My Play List has been converted to My Radio and I have lost all of my Free Play Days. Not happy.]

The reason they did it was because "90 something percent of our users use the radio function more than anything else" but the only reason this is true is because after your playlist has done then it kicks into the radio, i'm sure this is done more out of walking away from the computer than actually wanting to listen to the radio function.

Don't Internet radio stations pay less royalties because they are classed as non-interactive streaming services?

As Jessie J's song goes, "it's all about the money, money, money!"
