We've all been there, teacher says they've tried everything, checked that everything is plugged in but they still say the computer won't turn on.
Today (Oct 5th 2011), the unbelievable finally happened - their computer ACTUALLY won't switch on - genuine psu/switch/mboard fault!
10 years I've been doing this and its finally happened

5th October 2011, 09:07 AM #3 Well I took HD out of it and put it in another unit and the other unit works so I think that confirms it
But on the bright side - I've finally got a real hardware fault to investigate - I might even get my multi-meter out

Or beer. Our head of science once spilled beer on his laptop. I replaced the keyboard but I think the damage had been done as it then started to have seemingly random faults, so we made him buy another laptop.
