    Recommend me an e-reader/cheap tablet

I'm finally ready to give in to buying a tablet type device... but I do have a bl**dy good reason!

Having recently started uni, it's fast becoming apparent that my nomadic lifestyle and half a ton of books don't mix, so I'm looking to plump for an e-reader/tablet.

I don't need an all singing, all dancing device, I simply need something capable of displaying PDF's in colour, and I'd really like to spend no more than £100.

I've had a look at a Kindle and must say I was mighty impressed by their screen, but I think I'm right in believing they have their own file format and don't support PDF's or graphics; aren't I?

My first instinct is to go for a cheap Android tablet from eBay - I know they're not going to be the fastest devices in the world or have the best touch screen, but would those of you who have used them recommend them for my basic needs?

I do have a netbook which I use for my general browsing as I like to have a keyboard, but the widescreen format doesn't make for good reading IMO.

PDF's and other documents can be emailed to your kindle email address they are then converted by Amazon and delivered to your kindle via whispersync.

    Kindle is B&W only though.

One to consider then, I can't honestly believe how good the screen is on them, I was extremely sceptical until I saw one for the first time earlier in the week.

Will graphics be displayed too then? B&W might not be too much of a problem...

I think so allthough a lot of it will depend on the pdf original, as you say quality is fantastic.

I have the wifi only kindle 3 or whatever it is.

There are some new ones coming without the keyboard.

I know, it's open for pre-order but I'm still a little dubious as to how well it handles graphics from converted PDF's...
