    Network usage

    good morning all

we are currently after some software that will monitor network usage and utilization. the it manager wants to redistribute computers in to different areas and needs to know areas where current resources are not used.

we are rm cc4 here and know there is auditor but any one familar with auditor knows it is useless

    any ideas?

Apparently Spiceworks now monitors network traffic, but I don't know how, where, whatever as I haven't had a chance to play with it. Could be worth looking at.

You might want to contact HHES. They are currently in the final stages of testing a new product that does very comprehensive resource useage monitoring and reporting of exactly this kind. We're a beta site for it and so far so good I have to say.

Just tell 'em Rob @ Luton Sixth Form sent you!

here we use 10-Strike Network Monitor - Network Monitoring Software (Windows Program) the network monitoring program. and maybe LANState (Network Mapper and Monitor - 10-Strike LANState | Network Mapping Software) that does the same but can automatically build a map of your network
