Capn Jack is meant to be a true 51st Century guy; it doesn't have to even be human for him to hit on it.

I only watched it a few times......being Welsh, I couldn't get past how Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) always sounded like a Welsh person trying to sound....Welsh.

So I stopped watching it.

I'm sure my compatriots will know what I mean.

But she IS Welsh and sounds like that in real life - I have met her...sounds like a standard south-welsh accent to me

I know she's Welsh.......so am I, but she still sounds like a Welsh person trying to sound Welsh.

And it doesn't sound an awful lot like the South Welsh accents I was brought up hearing, or like the South Welsh accent my sister speaks with......and they don't come any more South Welsh than my sister, believe me.

Besides, I would say Ystradgynlais is more West Wales, really.......and they talk funny over there, anyway.
