Want to sue Sony for the downtime on PS3?

Sony's New Terms and Conditions Stop Users From Filing Lawsuits | Tech-Reviews UK

Well you cant! The new T&Cs literally stop you from doing so, and if you don't agree to them, you can't play online or use the Sony store!!

My advice, sue now, then when its gone through and you have a settlement, then agree!

Those T&C's can only take affect from the moment you sign them so if you are suing them for what happened before they have no relevance.

I thought you could still retain your right to sue, but you have to write to them and in the meantime accept the T&Cs until they confirm

You can also opt out by writing to their head office within 30 days of clicking the 'I agree' on this latest PSN update.

I wonder if the Daily Fail will blame them for something to do with this...

Edit: Ack! Mk-2 got there first...

well thats the point, if everyone just goes "ah sod it i agree, i want to play" and doesn't actually read it, its their fault really.
i mean if you signed paperwork for a new car without reading the "on completion we will remove the engine and wheels and charge you £1000 for the privilege" line then really its still your own fault for not reading it.
its clever by sony in a way, as people will be eager to get back online and most likely skip reading and just click i agree. by the time it comes around to people wanting to sue them, 30 days has gone and you are up a river of excrement without any means of propulsion.

I feel like I am the only one that doesnt have this dire urge to sue when something unexpected happenes... Fair enough if you were one of the ones that your credit card details were stolen. But if people are sueing simply cause the network went down and they couldnt play a game then to me its just silly. Its a free service, and they kept it down so no more damage could be done. I prefer the fact they pulled it down rather than keep it up with the front door wide open...

As far as I understood it, the clause only stops you from joining class action. You still have the right to attempt to sue individually.
