This is a bit of a fun poll really and am just intrested. As i am sat im my back garden with my laptop and a nice pint of beer after lighting the BBQ with my fingers slightly singed. I thought what do other people prefer. I know i have tried both but must admit I cant ever see myself buying a gas BBQ of comi one. The reason for this is there is no fun is a fake one i dont think and if you are going to use gas may as well put it in the oven. I did once have a gas one ok i will admit it was simpler to light easy to use but the food did not taste the same. I have just bought a bag of wisky barell chips and on the bag it says not to be used with gas BBQs and last time i used these they made the food tast soooo nice. It would be good to know. Sorry if it is silly think it might be the combo of beer and drugs lol.

If you're on holiday those little ones in the trays are cool.
The last BBQ i had was when i was on holiday with mates last summer. We found a rocky cliff that you had to climb over a wall and climb down a hillside to get to, but the view was awesome! Down in Torquay...very nice incdeed.
Also good is lighter fluid. We got a bottle....for a purely constructive purpose you understand *looks shifty*

Yup....those little disposable ones are cool .... and cheap!
Tho' nothing beats the thrill of the "real thing" with lots of lighter fluid! Especially if you like your food "Flame Grilled" and don't mind losing an eyebrow or two!!

Old Perculiar and spitfire are ace. I love Pedigree as a good ale to trust that's good most places you go. (Plus it's brewed locally

Don't use a gas bbq, you may as well put everything under the grill, as it's the same thing...... just outdoors!

Charcoal here. I find it handy to have a blowtorch handy if I'm in a hurry to get it lit!

As long as people dont bury them in the sand - the mrs works in Burns unit of local hospital - had any number of kids in with nasty burns last year because lazy bast@rds buried hot bbq trays instead of disposing of them properly.
Oh and I've gone over to gas - cooked outside every night for the last 3 weeks

we use the disposable ones and bought a really cool idea from the local collage its called a disposable bbq disposal unit its basicaly a stand when you finish you put the lid on the bbq and drop it into a sealed unit and fill with water with a 4 leter bottle and leave it for about 5 mins and then you tip it into a bag as it cools it down so much you can touch it and handle it. i tend just to bag the whole thing up and empty it out when i get home wash it out and use it again next time we go out.

or just dump water in them and wait 5 mins. No device needed.
If doing a proper BBQ then charcoal all the time, but if just cooking BBQ style in an evening gas is a life saver. But I think I have got a combi so that could be why I'm ok with it.

I have a standard charcoal and a gas - depends on the event really. I find it easier cooking on a bigger scale in the gas BBQ. If it's just me and 'her' - then it's the charcoal!
