    Netgear Router & Block Sites

Has anyone with a Netgear router (any model) managed to get the "block sites" area working? I've enabled it in the Admin interface and added 'google' to the keywords list and I can still get to Google! Same with any keywords/sites.

Works fine on mine, just remember normally it's keyword on page, aka google won't block as it doesn't say google on the page (pretty sure)

It does have it at the bottom. But on the router, it says keywords and domains so if you add 'Google' to the blacklist, any domain with google in it should be blocked. Tried full domains, wildcards (*youtube*) and nothing gets blocked at all.

You with sky by any chance? I know their "modified" router software used to have lots of issues with it, Not sure if it's been fixed since.

No, I'm with TalkTalk and bought my own router. It's a Netgear DGN3500 so there is no ISP firmware on it.

I have a DGN2000 and did get it working sometime ago. Just tried it as a feature to prove it works. Can look at it again if you are having issues.

That would be great if you could. And if you can let me know how you input the keywords/domains into the block list (*.youtube.com, youtube, *youtube* etc)
