I'm starting to use Xibo in a few of my primary schools for a staff room info board.
I like having a one line RSS feed but needed it to come from a reasonably hidden source and so I've created a Staff News category on the schools Joomla website and used the Syndication module and added it to the Staff menu (which is only available to registered users)

I then used the RSS url generated by the syndication module and put that into a tickertape layout.

This makes is relatively easy for the head/office to change the text without having to go anywhere near Xibo itself.
