Inferior testing and programming on the platform, they used all sorts of unsupported methods for DRM etc and that played out nastily when Vista was released with a version or two of iTunes that completely chewed the OS if you installed it then plugged in your iPod. All the services and unneeded rubbish that iTunes installs does not help either, Bonjour etc.

TBH, and this may sound strange, I'd rather have something well built but with suicide chips, than have an inferior product and a manufacturer who refuses to accept it was badly made.
