Hurrah..11 days after I put my house on the market, its sold. Which in itself is good, but what makes it even better is that the dream house which I have had my eyes on since I first saw it a month ago, has had my offer for it accepted
Now for the insane wait while various people drag out the paperwork until god knows when

I wonder how much a 6x6 cage would fetch on the open market. But then again it depends on the internal decor and curb appeal

I myself was surprised at the popularity and number of viewings, I guess I shouldnt be, the internal decor is modern and well maintained, its certainly light and airy inside the cage, and the stains wash out easily.
Most of them anyway.

I'm at the same stage mate - infact we made our offer in December so it's been dragging out with various awful buyers since then. The latest is that our buyer hasn't paid his valuation fee... for three weeks! Arghhh...
Everything else is sorted (I think) but it is a horrible position - spending weekends unable to do anything with the current house and planning the new... just hoping to be in before BBQ season atm!

I should hear any day when we can move in. It should have been easy with ti being a new house but as usual the paperwork is dragging it along

Too true..its hell for first time buyers, I was lucky, when I bought my first house 11 years ago, it only cost 32,000
, so I have made a tidy profit on it now that I have sold it

Re: Yay..house moving time !
Thing is, it's not *real* profit. It's not like you could sell it and buy something else for 32000 is it? The whole house price fiddle is a joke. Bloody Brown and co... Personally I hope the whole party gets hit by a really big bus. I think it's disgusting the way they've let the prices get pushed higher and higher and then make out like it's a good thing. It'd be good if we all owned properties we could rent out like Cherie Bliar but I've got a little feeling that isn't the majority of us...

True..but the fact that I can sell it for 145,000 , pay off the remaining mortgage, and still have 125,000 in my bank account, means that I can buy a 195,000 house, use 100,000 of my 125k towards the purchase..have a 95k mortgage..and keep the other 25k in my bank for me

Re: Yay..house moving time !
Yes but the house for 195k wouldn't of been 195k before the rise, it would of been in proportion to the price for your old house and you would of still been able to make a "profit", maybe not as much, but then you wouldn't be forking out for a 95k mortgage...

I dont mind the mortgage, its only 473 a month, thats WELL within my budget. The extra 25k in my bank added to the money already in there is nice though

Any more boasting about how much money you have will result in an extra layer of bars, barbed wire and possibly a small voltage being applied.
You wait until you have teenagers - how ever much money you have, it is NEVER ENOUGH!!

So very true !! the only reason I even want this money is in preparation for when my little girl becomes my slightly bigger girl
(this small voltage thing though...um...that sounds...well...could we maybe have that anyway
)
