I just had a call from NSOptimum offering their services to supply kit. I don't know anything about them but for some reason the name rings a bell? Can anyone give any positive or negative feedback on them please?
thanks

Good educational PC supplier recommendation?
A couple of links that cover them.

I think they are a company you either love or hate.
Their "associate" sales staff are VERY keen for business and do send out a lot of emails and phone calls, and can come across as quite pushy.
I am a happy customer of theirs and apriciate how quick they can be (I once had a Promethian board ordered and fitted within 2 days) I do also like the quaility of their installation work, and their engineers approach. They do make quite a nice PC and are competative on Servers too.
I'm guessing the account manager for your Area (Midlands?) is Rob, who I think is top notch.

They did a few installs here...never again

I received their mail shot twice in a day, and emailed asking them to stop. Then received another mail shot. It has happened constantly, they don't take no for an answer.
We used them for computers at our old place and they did seem like generic machines with an NS badge on front, not fantastic build quality or the best components used. But I guess if budgets are tight, sometimes needs must
I don't understand the mail shot thing, they email me maybe once a month with an offer on laptops or something.
Aside from the spamming, their machines were shoddy quality, and cabling work very poor.
However this could have all changed now, as its been 4 years since I've had any work done by them

And I used their "unsubscribe here" link, and still received them, I also emailed the person sending it to me, and also another person who had emailed me from there, all asking them to please remove me from their mailshot list as I do not wish to purchase. And within 10 mins of firing that email off I received another mailshot.
I've no doubt if I had emailed back saying how can I spend this £20k I'd get a perfect reply, but if you are emailing to say please do not send any more ads, don't expect a response

Used them once and it was enough to turn us away.
Asked for a motherboard (simple enough) - we supplied the part number, model number etc
Delivery was speedy
Wrong motherboard
Tried to return it and get a refund, took the better part of 2 months (which in the mean time we got the mobo we wanted elsewhere).
Never again.
Without Prejudice
My personal experience of them is 7 years old, but at the time they were awful in terms of quality and the emails and phone calls only ended after threatening legal action (they did start phoning me at home in my defence)

Cheap and cheerful? Cheap and stressful. They used to supply us with a lot of kit, they were very cheap and we would get 1 pc free per 10 that we purchased.
Shame most of it didnt even last a year, we ended up contacting them a lot with warranty failures, if you want PCs that will not get used a lot or rarely then they are okay. For us though - Never Again.
I Wouldnt touch them. Done a few installs that ive seen and dont even talk to the school about what they want they just lock everything down and make it a complete nightmare for the staff.

well there you have it, a glowing report, place your order soon![]()
If based in northamptonshire i know a few good companies to use. Inbox me if you likes.
Only dealings I've had with them was one morning when one of their technicians spent a good 15 minutes sat in our reception saying he was here to do the 'outstanding' work on our system. I got called down and told him I'd never even heard of NS Optimum. End result was he was actually meant to be at the primary school next door, and has come into our reception instead. What a mistake-a to make-a.
Great first impression.
