I would have called the local infantry unit out as per disaster management procedure who will then have deployed to the side of the "shamble" before ordering a standby order to fire. The reaction of the "zombies" would have been quite amusing to see.

that would be awesome, just to take over a certain area and let rip. maybe with some form of modified paint guns, or the laser stuff used in warfighters, so zombies knew when hit (wearing a sensor on their head to say dead and body to say slow down).
