    Totally agree, or kids in detention.

    Could you not give them to your Design & Technology Dept and get them to do it.

    Of course not, but if your an over-sunscribed school, it would be one way to get the numebers down. Most of them would probably even supply there own 'sharp tools'!

    What about the USB part?

    And it has to be accurate, they can't have a gap more than 6mm or else they'll fail the PAT test again!

    Make a template out of some thin sheet wood or something and tell them to keep to that.

    power buttons are the main problem here, they tend to break... specially the Viglen machines.

    Don’t really have problems with damaging computer equipment when i was at school, just the chewing gum problem!

    Infact did anybody have a problem with kids nicking the balls out of older mice? sorry if someone has said this i havnt read all the posts

    Changed them all to opticals fairly early on, not for cost, but hassle reduction reasons.

    We had a kid (now left) who liked chewing rubber - chewed the rubber off mice balls and then moved onto cables when we changed to optical :axe:
