27th May 2011, 01:58 PM #16 I relocated to London for my current position (although am in High Wycombe till July). I suppose the risk was less for me because even if I couldnt find anywhere, its still (just about) commutable.
I mentioned about wanting to relocate in my covering letter, and I think they brought it up in interview. Didn't seem to be a problem though, I would say as long as you mention you want to relocate to that area, and seem positive about it (even if you actually arnt!) it shouldn't hinder you
In my case, there were jobs around my area (Reading) but I just wanted to move to London

Then when you get an interview you could say that you're staying there temporary until you find a place of your own.
Ah my apologies!
Well I have an interview for one of the jobs in Swindon! My Uncle lives there which is good!
Sippo. I will PM you regarding the flat.

It was for Marling School. Seems quite nice. Only problem is I cant drive and is a bit far out of a few places.
In my recent past I have applied for 5 jobs in Birmingham, 3 in Swindon, 1 in Stroud and 1 in Swansea. All waiting to hear back from.

I'll second that, just bare in mind there are parts of Stroud that can be a bit 'out there'. I saw a wicker bicycle the other day.
Oh and it has lots of hills (but not as many as Swansea).

My ex Lodger was brought up in Stroud and hes told me about the "hippy" way of life. Not sure if I could stand trustafarians either...

I can vouch for that. I'm not working in Swindon anymore but am still living there for the time being.
Avoid the four 'P's. And the T.

*Update*
Well I just got back from the interview at St Joseph's.
Assessment task went reasonably well, with a couple of questions I couldnt answer.
I think I screwed the interview up. I dont think I gave a good impression, said alot of wrong things and got pretty nervous. I dont think I got the job. Its a real shame because the building is fantastic, all one block it seems, no temporary buildings at all! (Well consider my current school is 1/4 derelict.) The students are really well behaved, very quiet. I would love to work there.
Either way, I just got back home and have an E-mail from Churchfields school wanting an interview a week Friday, so not all bad!
Rob.
