16th May 2011, 11:16 AM #3 BT are now doing a 3 and 5 year contract which includes free installation costs, they have a variety of pipe sizes based on 100Mb bearer and I have heard that they will take that bearer up to 1Gb if required and then whatever bandwidth you require i.e. 10Mb, 20Mb, 30Mb etc and you can increase within the contract at a very small cost.
We are just looking at this at the moment.
Also very reasonable costs PM me if you want as I don't want to put them up for all and sundry so to speak.

16th May 2011, 11:28 AM #4 Yep we went with BT as there were quite reasonable, we also got the offer of double whay you buy, so we bought a bought a 10Mb connection but pay for 5, we had to pay for installation though. Yes you can buy a big pipe and restrict it to reduce you what you want but increase it as necessary.

16th May 2011, 11:55 AM #9 Expect to pay 14-16k for 100mbit from those suppliers mentioned.
Why are people not posting prices? It will help people get the best deals if we know how much each of us is paying. I know the companies are very flexible if you ask to match their competitors.

Pricing will depend on your location and how far it is to the ISP's point of presence etc. Therefore, while something might be 5K for me it could be 10K for you. So posting prices is pretty useless.

16th May 2011, 07:15 PM #14 Our LA are happy to provide an internet connection for those schools in the area moving over to academy status for the same cost plus 10%.

16th May 2011, 08:19 PM #15 Most LAs have hiked up prices substantially, so many people are caught out until its too late.
