    Tesco Vouchers

OK, so it's that time of year again. All the kids come to school clutching their little blue vouchers and deposit them in the envelope for some poor soul (me) to count.

My question is, considering that I will not actually be buying any computers, can anyone suggest something worthwhile for me to get with these vouchers?

Also, can anyone tell me the purpose of the camera that sticks to the side of the child's head....does anyone actually use one? I've seen it in the Tesco catalogue, but just can't think of its purpose.

I am glad to say that this task has been taken off me and given to our ICT co-ordinator

You could get the school a drum kit?

Please, don't make them any louder than they already are! I wonder if Tescos do soundproofing.

    Re: Tesco Vouchers

Considering the majority of parents who send children to our school work at Tescos, I'm not sure boycotting it would work.

Anyway, I'm quite desperate to see what a Stick on Head Camera actually does!

I guess I could strap one of those head cameras to one of the smallest kids heads and send them down the ducting to see what is stopping us putting new cables through it.

Now just need to save up enough vouchers for a brain control chip and my problems are solved...

I don't actively collect them, and any that find their way into school get passed onto a feeder school. I can do something much more productive with my time

However, I do collect and pass on the Sainsbury sport equipment vouchers - at least 22 kids can use one football!

    Re: Tesco Vouchers

We usually collect enough for a couple of computers and a few bits and pieces after that.

And with regards to that news article, I don't think that would really apply here. Being out in the middle of nowhere the only big supermarket is a Tesco. I would hazard a guess that 90% of the families in the area shop there so getting vouchers to help the school is an added bonus, not an incentive to shop there.

I agree. Tescos is the major employer in the our area - so we often receive some 'black market' vouchers (they can't trace me can they?). As result I'm not sure I want to stop using their promotion.

We have bought Tesco computers in the past, but have found them notoriously unreliable. Instead, I guess the purpose of this post was to find out what the 'in' thing to get was at the moment.
