I don't think they're even re-badged now - they definitely have the RM One listed in their catalogue (virtually bomb-proof, as long as you don't touch it).

Well, you just need about another 27,000 then. Although, I wasn't too impressed with the computer. It's not as robust as they claim, and you can get a much better specced machine for the price they offer.

It is well designed for an education market though except the cd drive. The cables are nice and locked away and the entire thing bolts to the desk.

They should replace the tray dvd drives with slot loading though, less to break.

    Re: Tesco Vouchers

Generally the Librarian here collects the vouchers - in the past we have generally either got for floppy disks or headphones.

The majority of the vouchers here seem to go to the younger children of the family i.e. brothers or sisters in a primary school.

It would make more sense to me if all the primary schools in the area pooled all their vouchers together to kit out 1 or 2 schools at a time, that way all schools will get their turn and they will get something substantial out of it. They can have my vouchers as well as they are generally just spent for spending sake.

I think we've got about 18,000 banked with tesco. We've handed the task over to our newly appointed junior this year, we've even got a display board with the lovely totaliser than tesco send you currently running about about 400 vouchers. If we're really lucky this year we're hoping to get a whole mouse with the vouchers.

Hey don't push it with those mice, you may not quite be able to afford one as they may now only have optical mice rather than balled ones!

I think we're probably going to get some headphones with our vouchers - none of us can think of anything exciting to get with them (and everybody loves headphones, right?!)

Well it depends on your definition of 'loves'. If you mean 'enjoy snapping them or pulling bits off them' then yes. If you mean 'enjoy using them in lessons for educational purposes, other than listening to stupid MP3 streaming sites' then no... :P

It's strangely satsifying. I decided to smash some broken headphones at school today (I know, it's the holidays) - it was extremely therapeutic.

I think every ICT Network Manager should always buy about 10 more headphones than they really need, just so they can rip them to pieces and stamp on them. Maybe I've found the true reason for spending Tesco Vouchers!

If the headphones belonged to the kids then I'd jump on em as soon as possible... Hmm, thats an idea - the mobile phones that the kids hand in to the office They'd go through some good smashing action :P

Still, nothing is as much fun as drilling through a hard drive (especially when the hard drive catches fire as a result - I speak from experience), or taking a hammer to a CRT Monitor.

Tescos should supply old equipment for ICT staff to wreck - that would get the schools collecting.
