Well done, burnt, cremated = all of the above!

One of these days I'll try it a little less done, but it's the thought of sticking my knife into it and blood pouring out that puts me right off!

I used to be like that, but then i went to Argentina and ordered it 'blackened' and they nearly slapped me in the face with the steak. It is some of the best steak in the world, and even the dregs of the butcher shop was some of the nicest succelent meat i've tasted, 2 inch thick slab cooked medium was delish.

In the UK, i prefer a hint of pink , but often ask for well done as it's so poorly cooked as @john @nephilim @plexer et al will attest to, i don't have the best of luck with steak.

The best thing for me here in Saudi, and i think i saw one place in the UK is a thing called a black rock, where you get a slab of granite heated to 400 degrees C at your table, and given a raw piece of steak, i go for Tenderloin then can cook each bite perfectly how you like. That i can eat medium or even medium rare if i'm daring. Best £15 i could spend at the local SteakHouse.

lol it wasn't just how it was cooked though.

I think the piece you ended up with came out of the dogs bowl mate.
