The easiest way for us is to use the google cache server. This will obviously only work for certain things though, excluding the all important non-web file downloads etc. | |

Rep Power: 7 | eBay blocked here - search.ebay.co.uk is dead too Websense is my enemy - particularly with things like proxy servers when it thinks I'm a naughty student and throws out 'Proxy avoidance' errors! GRRR |

Rep Power: 24 | Websense is very good at filtering eBay and sites like it, and it should be for the stupid cost it is! But I do like the fact its group bases so Domain Admins get unfiltered and restricted by default |

Rep Power: 18 | We're lucky, the proxyserver used for staff in our LEA has e-bay allowed, and I hope it stays that way as ocassionally I have used it for purchasing odd things like DVI-VGA adapters and other such small componants. Can't see the harm in having it allowed, think it should be the schools decision really. Mike. |

Rep Power: 11 | Upsetting for some, but makes sense in a way. According to EBay's TOS you must be over 18 to be registered and using the site, so students most certainly shouldn't be on EBay. Of course, that doesn't stop your teaching staff selling off your printer toners or anything... |

![]() | We blocked ebay here after it became the second most popular site after Google. After a bit of investigation it was proven that all they were looking at were cars and handbags so we blocked the site as a timewaster. |

Rep Power: 0 | We have the login/HTTPS side of ebay blocked, after several students were found to be selling pirated software/music/whatever on it, and using the college supplied email addresses as points of contact. Several irate buyers contacted the college directly as a result, which led to the blocking. |
