I never got into or saw the fascination with the Stobart Fan Club and lorry spotting, but he did seem like a genuinely nice guy and I have never heard anyone say a bad word about him.
Sad to hear.
Not in the fan club but it was/is a good, smart corporate image.
Having used to work in haulage Eddie Stobart is the one if not the biggest haulage company in the UK. They recently had a documentary on TV and it made interesting watching.
If I quit IT and went back to haulage I would certainly be prepared to travel to work for them. They have a very good and robust setup but they have the money to support it. The place I worked for went under last week due to rising costs.
Sad to hear he has died though.
RIP sir. He was a genius in my eyes, or imaginative and lucky. But whatever it was, he did a fab job of it.
How Ironic Eddie Stobarts life was limited to 56.

not a pistonhead but always keep a lookout for Stobart trucks when on the motorway (stemming from a childhood game when we kids used to compete for who spotted the most VW Beetles and VW campervans when driving in Dublin).
Time to play the Not the Nine O'Clock News song "I Like Trucking".....
He had a film ready for release - trust me, I've seen the trailers.
