    bbc site down

    typical i just got into bed flicked the laptop on loaded a program on iplayer now the website has crashed completely! the whole thing all of the other sites like sport/news aswell! never seen the whole thing crash normally just only parts!

    unlucky for the people on the night shift that have just gone into overdrive!

    EDIT: not even fern cotton with the promise of a swimsuit crashed the whole site!

    Yeah i googled it and there's lots of people posting it on twitter saying how they have restarted there pc's and it still doesn't work!

    The BBC name server dont seem to be replying to pings. Also Who.is cant find the DNS records...

    somebody put on there twitter that there network isn't routing traffic - how reliable that is is questionable though

    nslookups fail aswell.

    It must be something major internally with there network as i would assume they must have multiple external connections to reduce the impact of buildings digging through cables etc
