(my addition)Ms Berger, Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, asked for a breakdown of items worth £100 or more which had been stolen from the MoD since the government took office.
Childish, playground tactics. Shame on her.
MK-2 (25th March 2011)

Spot on.
Because I'm sure all MoD employees think "oohh wait, Labour aren't in government any more? Right I'd best leave my laptop on a train, that'll learn 'em!"
If a person is going to lose a laptop, they will lose it, regardless of who is in power, what they had for breakfast or who the current #1 single is!!

I'd be intersted to see how this compares to other departments, say the NHS for example. TBH, most of the thefts would not be by military personel as you spend most of your time begrudging the fact you have to carry/maintain/operate the kit in the first place, and the vast bulk of it is useless outside of military circles anyway.
And I agree, it seems to be a petty politicians trick that ties down a civil servant for a week and a half compiling a list for her to wave across the floor of the commons to score political brownie points.
