After having my HTC reboot itself again wondered if there is any way to back up all the apps and settings of the phone etc so if it dies for any reason and it needs to get swapped i'm not going to spend ages getting back to where i am now. Love the phone to death (never thought id say that about a phone!) But has a habbit of rebooting, think its when it gets warm, its in a protective case all the time like when watching a tv programme or using rhe sat nav. Found i rely on it so much now!

16th March 2011, 09:18 AM #2 there are a few different backup application that can be found in the market. i use one called sprite backup. It lets you backup to the phone/sd card/dropbox/box.net and you can schedule it to run at a certain time. It just works. but there are other that im sure people on here will tell you about.

But this is for ROOTED phones only.
I've rebuilt my phone X number of times, and Titanium always puts everything back!

16th March 2011, 11:09 AM #8 I rooted my htc hero and loaded cyanogen mod 6 and to be honest, i prefered the original htc ROM. there were things that i liked with the sence that i cant do with cyanogen. I get an upgrade soon and will be going for the desire HD, wont be rooting it or using a custom ROM.

I presume its just rebooting, suddenly shuts off and restarts fully. Everything normal when its back up and running, no lost settings etc. Sat nav was a guaranteed reboot aftr 30 mins approx. But used to be fine. Reinstalled google maps and navigate but not tried it again since. Todays was after about 30-40 mins in to a ch4 prog i was watching on 4OD.
