My iGoogle Quotes block has this covered from the other day...
In journalism, there has always been a tension between getting it first and getting it right.

From el reg.The lesson to learn here is that if your country is hit by a monster earthquake and tsunami, one of the safest places to be is at the local nuclear powerplant. Other Japanese nuclear powerplants in the quake-stricken area, in fact, are sheltering homeless refugees in their buildings – which are some of the few in the region left standing at all, let alone with heating, water and other amenities.

Oh dear I bet they are regretting the decision to have 2 different incompatible power grids now.

They have Britain and America to blame for that. They were each assigned a different side of the country to reconstruct after World war 2 and both installed a different system.

I think you'll find we installed the RIGHT system and they installed the WRONG system.

Hi Guys,
Its funny how a lot of people don't know about the UK Government Cover up in Cumbria...
UK Government covered up nuclear reactor blaze which caused death and cancer | Mail Online

From the Daily Fail Sensationalist Rag![]()

I would disagree with that view.
Although it has not been heavily publicised, except for the last week or so, Windscale was a well-known fact.
The problem with something that happened 54 years ago, is that is IS history. You can go back and read about it, but it's hardly going to crop up in EVERY History lesson, as it wasn't THAT big a deal. By the time the early 80's came round, and I was doing history at school, it was referred to , but we had the much more recent "3 Mile Island" disaster to talk about.
Just because it's not overtly talked about, doesn't mean that it's being covered up.
Of course, at the time, they would have covered it up....and in much the same way that the Japanese are covering up the worst of the Fukushima problems....but that's BIG Government for you.
*EDIT* It may also be worth reading some of the "Comments" section to see how much of a cover-up there was!
Daily Mail strikes again!
Oh, and did you know that house prices are going through the floor, because of the nuclear fll-out from Fukushima? Source: Daily Mail (Probably!!)
