    iPad from USA

I have been asked if I want one bringing back while a family member is on business. Any reason why I couldn't use it or have warranty here?

    Thanks

I got my iPad 1 from america - it works no problem, but i'm not sure about the warranty question - personally I don't see it being an issue.

How many do they intend to bring back - they may be tax issues if they bring a lot back and may get them taken from them.

They could get screwed over royally if customs stop them. It is technically smuggling, unless they go through the red channel and pay import duty and VAT.

    Your call.

The warranty on Apple devices is international. In January, i had my iPhone i purchased in the UK replaced under warranty in Australia when i was visiting.

You'll need to buy a uk charger for it.

All you need is one of those USB plug things. You can get them pretty cheap on eBay.

    This will do the trick

Or if you want an Apple one

Some countries (Australia is an example) have a scheme where you can claim the tax back on purchases like this if your not a resident. So you might be able to get the US tax you paid back on the item. Im not sure if the USA do it though

Good news. I withdraw my comment above (It was 200 last time I went out of the EU) Don't forget that is the total value you can bring in tax exempt. So don't load up with DVDs etc as well! Equally, the claiming US tax back should work easily if the store is set up to do it. They also have local/state tax that might be recoverable.
