    On the bright side at least other companies are making SSD's ie OCZ, Corsair etc so once prices come down , won't have to worry about WD, Seagate, etc unless they have SSD's in the works to compete with OCZ, Corsair / Samsung etc

    True, Maxtors were just delayed data wipeing devices, with a mean time between total, complete and spectacular failure that could be more easily communicated in days than months or years.

    I hope Hitachi's firmware engineers can show WD how to make a HDD that actually works properly in a RAID array.

    By the way, Samsung will be releasing 4TB HDDs sometime this year. I wonder how long is will take WD to release theirs?
