There's a clue there: they're not impressed, they're just happy to have the work done for free and play on the fact you fancy them but wouldn't dare make a move on them as they have boyfriends (I AM bitter lol)

As for using 'LOL' in actual conversation, if that really is acceptable amongst any generation now, then it's a sorry state of affairs. Me? I just laugh out loud if the need arises.

I have an excuse I learned and still use two different sign languages so I have signs and actions for tons of stuff...

In return folks usually indicate understanding of my job by mimicking a yawn

Sod that! If you want to impress a girl you're better off learning how to cook mate. Although I've kinda shot myself in the foot on that one. Now my girlfriend (whom I first impressed with my cooking skills) just expects me to cook every day.

Me too. When we met she looked like Nelly Furtardo, now she looks like Nelly the Elephant!

Might try that myself, in future!

(That's should I ever find myself single again!)

If you want the conversation to end, tell them you're a grave digger. There's not a lot more they can ask you after that.

From a female techs point of view, telling people you work in IT doesn't improve my pulling power either lol.

(oh, and I say lol occasionally, but only in sarcasm!)

It'd make you appeal to me, unless of course I just don't find you attractive in the first place in which case you're screwed. Lol.

Unless you're telling another fellow geek. In which case it is likely to improve matters
