    Prices of things go down!

Just been looking at prices of licences and media for our new (to be) server and was surprised that comparing to the last server we had (6 years ago) it is going to cost us less this time. Server 2008 compared to server 2003 is 20 odd pence less, the CD to go with it is £9 less, the upgrade to W7 compared to the previous upgrade to XP is £2.50 less! Only one to go up is the CAL and they are only 23p more!

Couldnt believe it, thought it would be alot more after 6 years!

and you can download and burn all your own media from the MS VL site and thus pay nothing more than a few pence for a blank CD or DVD, or just boot the ISO from a USB drive.

Could do but LA has all the details for account etc and we usually have to deal with them. Might investigate it though.
