Can anyone recommend a free FTP program for use with Windows 7 and for someone who is a bit of a novice when it comes to using a PC? I have to train someone on how to upload files to a website so it's got to be simple.
Wish me luck!

(otherwise yeah, go with Filezilla)

26th January 2011, 08:45 PM #5 CyberDuck FTW - it's awesome for MAC and Windows.
Don't like coreFTP much, plus isn't it only free in the lite version?
Otherwise for simplicity drag & drop via a windows explorer folder might be better.

I tried that but they got very confused and we ended up with a mess. Got a phone call to say half the website had gone and it had. Half the files had been dragged on to their desktop

oops maybe you need one of those programs that auto synchs all files saved in a certain folder, does filezilla do that?
or, a cms / web editor program that has upload via ftp built in. so they just hit publish, and the files are pushed up.

26th January 2011, 10:58 PM #14 I've found FileZilla more resilient and reliable at FTP than WinSCP, but WinSCP excels at SCP connections

27th January 2011, 12:08 AM #15 we use the fireFTP addon for firefox. All our users use firefox already so it wasnt much of a challenge for them to learn to use this addon.
