Erm... whats "Glow"
/me=scottish member but in Manchester :?

Glow
As far as I can recall, and I'm happy to be corrected on this, the Scottish education secretary wanted a nationwide digital network setting up. They put it out to tender and RM came up with the best solution, which from what I've read, is a bespoke version of Kaleidos. Everyone seems happy with the solution. Why can't we have that sort of joined up thinking south of the border?
We'll be using glow too but not until after the holidays, after that I'd happily set up something like that russdev..
only if I'm still working here though![]()

We are looking at glow. It seems scary bad and they wont answer our questions.
I went to some presentations on GLOW, it is basically a higher speed network combined with a nationwide Intranet, based off of sharepoint.
It includes Video Conferencing (repacked 3rd party software from marratech), and the ability to setup shared spaces, VLE, staff / student personal pages. They were running the servers from a datacentre outside Edinburgh I think. They were working on using single sign on with Shibboleth. They were also pushing it as them providing the infrastructure but the LA / schools will decide how much or little they use of the technology.
