    Budget or second hand PC

    HI all, this isn't really a market that I've been involved in much but due to current money constraints I need to take a peep. My old desktop has died and I need to replace it with a budget tower basically just for web, docs etc nothing special. I already have a monitor and all the rest so I only need a tower. A quick google search brings up all manner of companies but I'm not 'sure' about any of them. Can anyone recommend a good company that will sell second hand desktops or should I just stop being lazy and build a replacement?

    Ideas?

    Cheers.

    @cookie_monster:

    New innards to the tower you've i.e. MB, chip, coolerfan and memory won't cost that much and you will be up in no time.

    I'm aiming for <£200

    @ bossman: the old PC is very old, it would need the full works. It's got a 1GHz Duron CPU and a 20Gb HD to give you an idea.

    http://www.ict-direct.co.uk - though the site seems down ATM... I am sure John used to post on here, and a bunch of people on here (myself included) have bought from there.

    Edit: site back up - the 150 quid HPs are great boxes

    I got my father-in-law one of the ASUS Mini Desktops... it's been a fab little bit of kit for internet and document editing. They come in at around £250 with XP on I think.
    EDIT
    Something like this: Asus Eee Box 1007 Mini PC (Intel Atom D410,1.6 GHZ,1GB,160GB,WLAN,eSATA,Keyboard,Mouse,Win XP)

    Hmm looking at that threw up this unit that comes with Win 7 64 bit, it does break the budget a bit though but doesn't that always happen when you start looking

    Can I second Ebuyer. In a similar situation to yourself, I bought the parts from them and had no trouble, and cost a little bit more than £200

    Well I still haven't decided but as I'll only be web browsing and producing word docs I'm tempted by one of these. Just need to find out if it will take 2Gb RAM.

    Or the obvious, eBay. I've bought several computers off there sticking to the usual rules of checking feedback, etc.
