In the future, hydrocarbon fuelled cars could be used as mobile charging stations for electric vehicles.

Me too, but that's mainly because it would only cost about £15 per month in electricity rather than £90+ in petrol. Future generations will wonder why we wasted so much of our wages on petrol/diesel (~65% fuel duty!!!), owned cars which didn't have constant torque, 0-60 mph times better than 4-5 seconds as standard or customizable engine sound generators.

Also, how long will petrol stations be around? If it takes 10 minutes to fast-charge an electic car, then garage forecourts as they are today simply won't be large enough to accomodate the same volume of customers or massive queues of cars waiting to be charged.
