    Sky broadband - any good?

The Mrs had decided that we should have the Sky TV, phone & broadband package. Now this does make since as it's cheaper than just the phone and broadband we have at the moment.
BUT, is Sky broadband any good? Are they reliable? I can see the benefits of the package, but I'm not convinced that I won't have to wait yonks to be connected!

Check the price because unless your exchange is unbundled you may pay more than what is advertised.

My neighbor has sky and its pants, I had talk talk, that’s worse. I not sure what’s worse no internet or talking to the Muppets in there support center. I believe the connection quality depends on your distance from the exchange.

Watchdog did a piece on Broadband the other day check it out

I have this with the V+ box - like sky plus but better as records 2 things at once and lets you watch another.

It also has catch up TV which has last weeks TV highlights on demand.

And has TV on demand which has loads of full series show availabe to watch any time.

I had SKY but changed and am well chuffed.

Well I had an activation date of January 25th for Sky Broadband. It still wasnt on by 24th February and all I kept getting told was they are dealing with it, give it a couple more days. I've now told them where to stick it obviously!

I read up on them after that (I know, I should have done it before!) and noticed so many with the same problems.

    Bad experiences

I'm sure there are plenty out there who have had no problems though but from what I've experienced and heard, I'm staying well away now

I was very tempted until I heard that the whole Sky broadband infrastructure was incredibly flaky - and this was down to the fact that they'd "inherited" a load of old equipment rather than implementing brand spanking new systems
