    brunch,
    elevenses,
    lunch,
    afternoon tea,
    High Tea,
    Dinner (5 courses of course; Appetizer, Starter, Main, Desert, Cheeses),
    supper,
    Late supper,
    midnight snack,
    and of course all of these are intersected by periodic breakouts of munchies and snacks.

    And of course, how can we leave out the hobnobs....

    I tend to say Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

    I consider Tea (or High Tea if you want to go that way :P ) is when you have a cuppa and a cake, mid-afternoon.

    TBH in these days of such convenience, half the time I don't think proper meal-terms apply anyway; I've seen people prepare what I would consider breakfast (cereal, toast and juice) at 1pm for lunch, some put a microwave meal in to have for lunch (which I would consider to be something to have for dinner), others go home and have cereal for dinner, or a snack...... to me, lunch involves a sandwich of some kind, otherwise it's not lunch! (Pasties are acceptable too :P )

    Then there's my girlfriend who is in a league of her own as far as I'm concerned; eating last night's leftover pizza for breakfast.... I dunno how she does it, makes me feel ill

    Although, before I met my OH, it was always lunch and dinner!!!

    (It's her fault! I even call the front room, the drawing room now, in deference to her!!!)

    Here's how the words get used in my house!

    Middle of day: Lunch (if a light meal), Dinner (if a main meal)

    Evening: Dinner (if a main meal), Tea (if a light meal)

    In the run up to bedtime: Supper (but I don't snack late often)
