Just booked my free 1hr motorbike lesson. Loved my motorbike when I was 13, and at 26 I'm starting to think it's time I got my licence.
Told the missus she can have a pandora bracelet if I can have my bike licence.
Anyhow, book your free 1 hr lesson here : Free Motorcycle Ride - Bike Try Out Session - Get On

12th November 2010, 07:27 AM #4 I have a full licence from way back and am hankering to get something suitable for my disabled wife to sit on the back. This may be the ideal opportunity to get advice on what would be the best choice. There's a centre 8 miles from us.

12th November 2010, 08:15 AM #5 Good to hear it Hightower. Getting your license (especially ifyou do direct access) means you can have sooo much fun on a bike.
I remember when I first said to my mam that I wanted to ride a bike and she said, "Ifyou get a motorbike you can move out of the house!"...I now have two.

I used to have a trials bike when I was 13. I think it was an RM80, and got up to a good 50mph if not more. Used to go up and down the old train lines on it with no helmet on, and my mother complained, but my dad was right there with us flying up and down the lines with no helmet on too! Only ever came off it once, but that was at about 3mph.
I wouldn't get a bike straight away, as I'm in the process of selling my home and buying a new one, but would be nice to have the tick on my licence ready for when we have somewhere to store a bike.

12th November 2010, 08:27 AM #7 Ohh I got my license as a holiday. Took a week off work, did Direct Access and week long course. One of the best holidays I had
Just a week of pottering around, stopping at a cafe for lunch then off round some lanes, a few manoeuvres and the debrief at the end. Can't recommend it enough.

12th November 2010, 08:32 AM #8 About £500-£600 for a direct access course right?

12th November 2010, 08:48 AM #9 Yeah mate, I'd think that's about right. Might be more now though. I didn't do direct access as I wasn't old enough but from what I can remember it'll be about that.
