I've got an order in for some 25m extension cables for the lighting desk in the hall.
Just emailed finance to check they were ordered and got a reply "yes, they were ordered this week so they shouldn't be long"
(you can see where this is going can't you?)
I replied "I was rather hoping they would be long - long enough to reach the back of the hall anyway"
[drum fill]

I told them it was an intergalactic communications device.

5th November 2010, 09:32 AM #4 We have actually managed to get people to hold the network cable at a certain angle and point the mouse laser at the monitor to get SIMS to work properly. Unfortunately, this particular member of staff has left and nobody else will fall for it.

5th November 2010, 01:17 PM #8 i had a teacher complain the internet was running slowly.
I suggested it was because too many people were looking at big pages on the internet, and she should try resizing her browser to as small a window as possible, to reduce bandwidth. I giggled as I left the room, and they were attempting to operate google in a box not even 6 inches across and only about 1 inch of space showing.

I told a member of the admin staff this when they complained their computer was slow. She wasn't impressed and definitely didn't see the funny side...

User: "Please can I have a network cable?"
Me: "How long?"
User: "I want to keep it!"
