3500-ish visits per day during the week and 300 on a Sunday and no forum posts (except Ric, but only just!). Either you all have hangovers or you do actually have a life beyoned your keyboards!
* I am, of course, exempt. I'm only here to do a backup![]()
Yeah- I chill out at the weekend and try to recharge, and make sure I don't spend too much time staring at a computer screen. Even if I do spend a little time on the computer at home, it's light surfing and not heavily technical. After the week we all have, I think we owe it to ourselves (and our families) to guard the time we have away from work well :-)
Did I get philosophical there? Sorry! lol!

lol

The only time i get to keep up with all-thing IT is outside of work at the moment (or should that be "for the past 4 years" lol) so I'm always on the computer/internet.
better to watch a screen and be interactive [computer/console], than to just watch one like a zombie [tv] IMO lol
That said, i was drinking away last nite
...but afterwards ended up playing FF online until 6.45am lol
[gotta relax right lol]
Cheers

Just given up on WoW ... not really going online enough to justify the payment each month.
Instead of being in here I have been winding up a stupid troll in the TES ICT forum ...
http://www.tes.co.uk/section/staffro...&messagePage=1
She really deserves to be at the wrong end of an etherkiller.
Just to post WAY off topic - nosing in on that thread GrumbleDook - my Head has told our ICT Co-Ord that he can no longer be acting Network Manager, and that she will be taking on the roll! Must start up a dedicated thread...

Your head will be your Network Manager?
Well ... that is completely above board ... it can be passed off as additional duties and with no worries about TLRs ... but possibly a few issues with Workforce Remodelling.
How good is the Head though?
[Just posted a new thread here]
She is totally ignorant! She is currently 'helping' me with my job load [250 PC's/ just me - go figure!] - ie see's my priorities - keeps ppl off my back.
The Head of IT [teaching] is a fiddler - but knows nothing about real IT support if you know what I mean - and he refuses to consult with me over anything - buying stuff - hardware AND software - he is her advisor - behind the scenes/ out of my sight/ knowledge.
I give advice, make proposals, suggest spending plans, design, procure and manage everything, they take the money.
mark, i've been down that road before, and am now virtually skidding off it. myself? maintaining two thousand pcs by myself in four schools; the IT co-ordinator buying any old c*** she chooses; she getting paid far more than me because she now carries a 'responsibilty' point (some 'responsibility' spending the money on redundant equipment); teachers complaining to me about her but there is nothing i can do about it/her...go figure...
