Are you sure about that? The only reason I say that is that I have recently installed CyanogenMOD on my Desire, and that has Proxy support. What I'm not sure of is whether CyanogenMOD is unique in having proxy, or whether it is available on Android now and HTC for whatever reason don't include it in their ROM's. If that's the case, then devices running Android stock ROMs could potentially have proxy support?

Like I say, I've only used the Desire so I have no knowledge outside of that.

I was under the impression that 2.1 didn't support proxies native,(without rooting & fiddling) but 2.2 did? (or that may have been just my device)

I'm sure it is possible, and certainly CyanogenMOD does. but stock 2.2 doesn't for me, we have a number of (personal) android devices in school and I've yet to get them connected to the internet.
on a plus note, the citrix receiver works nicely on android.

    Righty-ho!

    ZT-180 FAQ

    Wifi strength and power fix

The FAQ contains links to pretty much everything you need to know. I've been having fun trying to get two 3G dongles to work tonight, but with no success so far. It can be done though.

Slatedroid has a great forum too.

After a fair bit of research I'm hoping to get a range of the archos internet tablets to play with 43, 70 & 101 ... not too expensive and from reviews and spec seem the best of the low cost bunch until the 3.0 ones get released.

I have upgraded my ePad to Froyo and can confirm that it does appear to have increased the battery life. It also fully turns the screen off in standby, rather than just dimming it.

Still working on 3G functionality, but I believe the issue is with my Huawei modem and not the ePad.

I have been looking at a couple of the cheap models on fleabay. Namely an 8" model for about £140. Anyone bought something similar?

Yeah, I've tried with a couple of the Froyo 2.2 (x86) builds. Got it on no probs, but couldn't get the touchscreen to work. Still struggling to get ubuntu/meego/*insert your flavour of linux here* to work with touchscreen on it
