Video Conversion Software
I have a collection of videos here i think they are in .AVI format. I need them to be in .mp4 to go onto iPods. Normally for this job i would use Handbrake. But the problem is i have 50ish files. If i use handbrake i have to select each file individually. To be honest i cant be bothered doing it 50 times. There might be even more to come.
Does anyone know of some software that will convert all video files in a root of a folder? Its so it saves me selecting one file, waiting then selecting the next.
Does that make sense?

Try Avi To Mp4 Converter You can add more than 1 video with this.

Set the correct conversion settings, highlight all source files & drag all videos into the 'drop a valid multimedia file here' box and click encode (active files)

You can do multiple files with media coder, we have this deployed in our school environment, it's free and no nag software attached.

Eeek, after investigating it looks like you want to be sure to use the old version given the SF comments:

Slightly hijacking this thread but does anybody use any converting software for all users? I'd love to put the onus on the end user to convert their own files when created.

Yes we use media coder, runs from a share off a server no need to deploy to stations, but as pointed out the latest version may have some nasties bundled with it. I installed media coder about 2 years ago and it was a going project on sourceforge. But if there is no support or they are not developing now you might want to try the alternatives mentioned here.
