    DVD enconding software

A teacher has given me a mpeg file to convert to dvd so it can be played on a normal dvd player. Is there some software we could purchase or some open source software which could do this for us.

    Thanks

You could have a scout around for the free version of 'vso DivXToDVD' which should do it.

IF the mpeg is DVD standards compliant, then DVDStyler will create an authored DVD for you but this is one of those things that you generally have to buy a program to do it for you to save time and hair pulling

I just use VideoStudio, comes with camcorders and often firewire cards.

Haven't had chance to try it yet, but http://www.jahshaka.org/ looks very promising. Found it at around the same time as DVDFlick but haven't needed to do anything more fancy than quick and dirty conversions to DVD at the moment...
