I should think that it probably does make a difference, in that BSF & P4S won't affect you because it's aimed at LEA schools, and not, I'm assuming, fee paying institutions. Can someone correct me on this if I'm wrong?

I'm with PAtT - Professionals Allied to Teaching - which is the Support Staff branch of Professional Association of Teachers. I did it basically for the indemnity protection on the strong recommendation of tutors and friends.

It's worth bearing in mind that they're non-party affiliated and non-TUC affiliated and don't strike. So they're not a 'Union' in the traditional sense of the word. Depends on your feelings and politics which way your prefer I guess.

PAtT worked out cheaper than Unison, too, if that's a consideration.
