IT and non IT asset management

I'm currently trialling glpi in conjunction with ocs for asset management and document tracking of my IT assets however we are looking for a web based system that can be used for all school assets i.e tv/vcrs/dvds etc...

I know that I could just add them into glpi as devices but the reporting options in glpi seem a bit sparce i.e if I wanted to find all devices by department etc..

Anyone doing similar out there?

Im looking for something similar to transfer our paper based stock books to electronic. Please let me know if you find anything worth looking at.
