19th August 2010, 09:33 AM #23 Well, the ball is rolling on this. On Saturday I'm heading over to my brothers to book a scouting week in Cyprus for May. Going to do some serious research/talking/thinking about this over the weekend, and I hope to have made my decision this time next week. If we decide for Cyprus then the holiday will be a scouting mission for apartments and jobs, and if not, the holiday will be used as a holiday.
I'm one of those people that, when I have made my mind up I go through with it - just like when I decided to tattoo myself - I bought the gear and just got on with it.

19th August 2010, 11:40 AM #27 Maybe keep house, move back in with parents and rent the old house out. That way get an income etc to save up and then can move to Cyprus but also have a chance to move back if it does not work out.

All well and good, but the income will be reduced because you wouldn't move back to your parents, and NOT pay some form of rent, would you?
It's always too easy to see the parents as a fall back position, but they have bills to pay too!

Ohh, we do, we do!!
(see previous post)
Still think keeping the house, at least until you know that jobs ARE available, is a good idea though

19th August 2010, 12:15 PM #30 I can't hold onto the house and rent it out - it would cost more to pay the mortgage than we'd get in rent. Plus, what good is it coming back to a mortgage with no job. I think the safest bet is definately selling up.
At least that way I've got nothing to make me want to come back.
