I'd agree with TopBanana- Cant beat North Norfolk Coast, a heck of a lot to see and do around Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea.

I was chatting to Frankie Dettori on the Isle of Wight ferry. He told me he prefers Cowes to Ryde.

Still a spectacular sight as you drive past on the A303.
If you are in that area, Stourhead Gardens is worth a visit. They filmed a chunk of Pride and Prejudice there. It's NT so not cheap.
If you want to spin a few less miles, come to Droitwich on a sunny day and have a swim in the lido.

As a Member I think the £30 odd I pay a year is well worth it. Stourhead is one of my 'often visits' along with Dyrham, Nr Bath.

As Martin said, do look locally as well, it is amazing what you miss on your own doorstep. Look at your local tourist info site or the local council site. We had family over from Canada and we went to all kinds of places we had never thought of as they were looking with touristy eyes.
