I have an o2 pay and go sim. It costs £15 pr month for 300 texts and this includes data. Not sure how much though.

I actually still have my old o2 payg sim. If i just put that in and top it up will I get data too? Or does it need to be a special 3g Sim ?

I've recently discovered orange do a fairly nice Extra now, £5 for 250MB of data which will last for a month.

Made my use of PAYG justifiable again rather then having to look at moving to contract with data on.

Where in the Uk will you be? Round here the only provider to go for if you want a reliable signal is O2. You need to be asking people who live in your area.

We have done alot of work with mobile providers to make sure our Toughbooks have good connectivity in certain areas, the best we have found for speed are 3 and Vodafone, O2 gets a good signal but it very slow.

Personally at home I use Vodafone and Orange, both good but Vodafone has slightly better 3G coverage and 3 is excellent, that is whose sim I have in my works laptop at the moment. Can't say I rate O2 speed wise.
