looks exactly the same to me?

I think it's the news that has now moved over to the "new look" (what they call barlesque) layout and template, to match other BBC sub-sites.

Looks a bit too 'busy' for me
def dont like the bold font numbers along side the 'most read' section!
It's prolly my age, but I dont like change!!!!

Hey, brown is back!
yeah lol just looks the same to me also
Are they trying to out do Fox / Sky Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhosh news ?

Sorry, I meant the BBC News section!
Red text? Arghhhh!
And the Layout *^*&%%!

It's awful, isn't it! Like a car crash of web-page design.

Every design ever launched by an established site is always "nasty", "horrible", "unuseable" or some other adjective. In a month's time, you won't even notice any more.
Although you may have a point, the complete lack of any divider between horizontal articles makes them a bit awkward to read.
Just to balance the argument I actually think it looks better than the old one! The layout seems to have more "structure" now whereas before it was just a mess of random headlines and the layout/formatting was all over the shop. The page is now divided up more cleanly IMO.
A few divider lines between headlines as suggested by powdarrmonkey would be a good idea though.
Ha Ha! Barly-esque!

Yer its pants !

Prefered the old layout. Felt a bit lost this morning, as BBC news is my site of choise for keeping up to date with what's going on - it's just not as easy to find what you want any more!
I have no doubt I'll get used to it, but I have to ask how many times does the BBC need to redesign its site? This must be at least the 3rd incarnation in recent times, and how much does it cost each time they do it I wonder!
Mike.
