I wouldn't say it is trying to emulate anything (knowing all 3 people behind it) when it comes to another resource which hopefully Edugeek.net can work together with.

Those 3 have been around for a while doing similar things anyway ... good to see them joining things up with others.

Actually ... a lot of them are. Peter has presented at an early EG conference, as has Josie and Ian has been around here for a while. A lot of LA folk do lurk and contribute when they can ... but there is a bit of cynicism with some folk that they have an agenda if they do post.

I'm technically from an LA and I've seen people bashing LA's and I can understand their point of view as sometimes talking to the LA can be frustrating. E.g: If you've got a Citrix network and have a problem... there are some LA's who wont have a clue what it even is, let alone support it.

As with all things it's swings and roundabouts, some people are good at their jobs and some people are useless - niether are immune to bashing though. Still, I'm interested to see exactly what they will do with this... so I'll probably sign up

    Hello

    Hi all,

Just dropping by to say hello & thanks for posting about eduLAIT. I'm a huge supporter/fan of EduGeek - I've been a member for a long time now but won't claim to have been noticeably alive on the forums
eduLAIT is currently an expression of interest for people working for Local Authorities with a remit for education & technology, to see if there's enough interest in having a meetup & taking something forward. eduLAIT certainly isn't trying to replicate the excellent work going on over here and I'd hope that where there are overlaps we would support each other in taking a more joined up approach.

    Hope yr all well, Josie

I would second this I was on the end of a bit of LA Bashing at the Conference. Although I brushed it off as banter.

I'm taking lurking to a whole new level here. Or at least I would have if only I could've kept quiet
