help needed here i have never had to do this befor i need to make up 8 2' leads this is where the problem comes 1) need a basic pinout diagram so i can solder lead we have about 20 meters of old vga cable so i will be using that. 2) is what is the rule of thumb ref. the magnetic lumps(interferince module) on it will i need one at each end ore will one surfice. i hope someone can help as this is a money saving idea as to buy they will cost about £7 each where to make them will cost £2 each thats with 1 interferince module

Buy them! Unless you are quite good with a soldering iron, you will end up with:-
1) A blob of plastic where you once had a plug
2) Lots of cores joined that shouldn't be
3) Burnt fingers
4) Ulcers through the stress of working out what you've done wrong
Been there, done that... and I AM quite good with an iron.

looks good but do you know 15 pin vga is 10 + 11 shorted to the same wire or would you use 2 wires ?? also still need to know about the interferince blocks on it

the trouble is 2 meters is a bit long but i do like that price ant that would be cheaper if i could get them shorter

lol just found it and i have found out somthing better
its just down the road from me so i can collect. (added to local supply list) its suprising what what you find out when you ask lol. also cheaper than buying ends.

lol no i dont do that have done more soldering than i care to think it was part of my job and i love it but yes time is a issue. got a good iron with fan and temp control ect cost about £300 was a preasent from a friend. also is esd protected.
