    Google Is Trialling CitizenTube

    Link: CitizenTube

Google is testing out a new feature that will enable netizens to get breaking news stories in the form of user uploaded videos on YouTube, and in the process turn the biggest video sharing site into a crowd-sourced video news library.

Subscribers to the new YouTube News Feed will receive a stream of news videos on YouTube, with a focus on strong visuals, non-traditional sources and the very latest uploads. To achieve this Google is working with the University of California at Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism to track news as it breaks on YouTube.
A potential source of information. Although how it will be distinguished from YouTube when users start to post more freely and in greater numbers is not clear yet.

One to keep an eye on?

That looks interesting. Another thing they released today was a web-based video editor for editing videos directly on YouTube. It's a bit basic at the moment though.
